Our Early Years programmes emerge from our belief in children as strong and capable learners, rich with wonder, curiosity and knowledge. They receive the dignity and respect of very important people. The programme is led by a highly qualified and experienced team of educators with training from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Reggio Emilia Institute, High Scope and international teaching experience.
Throughout the Early Childhood programme, students at The Children’s School experience a safe, nurturing environment, one that facilitates a smooth, comfortable transition from home to school and allows for the introduction of life skills that are essential at a young age. Social and emotional skill building is one of the most important parts of the early childhood programme. With support and encouragement from their teachers, students learn how to be open to new experiences and willing to take risks. Teachers introduce, encourage and support the practice of sharing, taking turns cooperative play. Classroom Learning Centres allow children to make choices, complete self-chosen tasks and develop their ability to work with other children and adults in a cooperative and collaborative environment.
